Pharmacist - Alexandria, LA

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an opioid treatment center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This part-time, contract role offers a structured schedule and the potential for extension or direct hire after a one-year term.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge
• Conduct chart reviews and maintain thorough and accurate documentation
• Verify and fill prescriptions, stepping in during technician absences
• Prepare and complete internal reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel
• Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Operate independently when technician support is unavailable
• Maintain limited patient interaction, primarily upon request
• No responsibilities related to billing or insurance processing

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
• 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
• Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment centers is preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report preparation and documentation

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Hours: 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM (20 hours weekly)
