A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an opioid treatment center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This part-time, contract role offers a structured schedule and the potential for extension or direct hire after a one-year term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge
- Conduct chart reviews and maintain thorough and accurate documentation
- Verify and fill prescriptions, stepping in during technician absences
- Prepare and complete internal reports and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Operate independently when technician support is unavailable
- Maintain limited patient interaction, primarily upon request
- No responsibilities related to billing or insurance processing
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
- Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment centers is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report preparation and documentation
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Hours: 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM (20 hours weekly)
