This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist seeking a focused role within an opioid treatment center. The position requires serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), overseeing pharmacy operations with an emphasis on maintaining compliance and supporting patient care in a part-time capacity.
Key Details:
- Position: Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
- Contract type: Part-time, 1-year contract with potential for extension or transition to direct hire
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday | 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM (20 hours per week)
- Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
- Facility: Opioid Treatment Center
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary pharmacist overseeing all pharmacy functions and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Perform thorough chart reviews and maintain accurate documentation
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and safety
- Fill prescriptions when pharmacy technicians are unavailable
- Complete necessary internal reporting and forms utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Work independently in the absence of technician support
- Engage directly with patients only when requested; no billing or insurance tasks involved
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
- Experience with substance abuse or opioid treatment preferred but not mandatory
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
