A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist at a well-established community hospital with over 200 beds. This role offers a dynamic work environment where you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe and effective medication management to support patient care.
Location: Alexandria, LA
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating and variable schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapy
- Utilize pharmacokinetics knowledge for patient-specific dosing and monitoring
- Effectively use EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and documentation
Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with a strong community hospital background
- Proficient with electronic health records (EPIC) and automated dispensing systems (Pyxis)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment with fluctuating schedules
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
