Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA

A community hospital with over 200 beds in Alexandria, LA, is seeking a qualified Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment starting ASAP. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic hospital environment while collaborating closely with healthcare professionals.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts including potential hours of 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities include:

• Order verification to ensure accuracy and safety
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow
• Consulting with physicians and nurses on medication therapies
• Applying pharmacokinetic principles to optimize treatment outcomes
• Utilizing systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management

Desired qualifications:

• Active Louisiana pharmacist license
• Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably current
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong communication and clinical skills to support multidisciplinary teams
