Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA

An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This 13-week contract position offers a fast-paced environment where your clinical expertise and leadership skills will directly impact patient care.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating shifts include: 6 AM–4:30 PM, 7 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11 PM
• Every other weekend on call

Primary Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow and compliance
• Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding drug therapies
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Louisiana pharmacist license
• Current hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail in a hospital setting
