This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead and develop a retail pharmacy team in Altoona, PA. The position offers a permanent role with a 36-hour workweek and variable day and afternoon shifts. The role emphasizes leadership, operational excellence, and commitment to customer care within a dynamic retail setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the store operations team to drive associate engagement and communicate departmental and company strategies.
  • Ensuring prescription accuracy and compliance through comprehensive Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance processes aligned with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Managing the pharmacy department to build profitability and increase prescription volume by promoting clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
  • Monitoring inventory and working with the pharmacy district management to optimize stock levels and meet customer demand.
  • Aligning the department’s performance objectives to key metrics to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Delivering excellent customer service by providing healthcare counseling and addressing medical-related questions.
  • Supervising pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff; directing training, coaching, and managing performance and discipline.
  • Maintaining pharmacy security and handling customer issues to foster trust and loyalty.
  • Collaborating with physicians and utilizing reference materials to resolve prescription-related concerns.
  • Overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
  • Prioritizing and completing essential tasks such as cycle counts, inventory control, and managing will-call prescriptions.

Qualifications for the ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree
  • Current pharmacist license in Pennsylvania
  • Current Pennsylvania Immunization License
