Pharmacist in Altoona, WI

This contract Pharmacist opportunity offers the chance to work in a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Altoona, WI. Ideal for professionals interested in a travel role with a focus on a diverse range of clinical areas including the Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, and Medical-Surgical units. Oncology coverage is minimal or not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services, supporting 10-12 patients daily through the Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC).
• Utilize Cerner EMR and Pyxis systems for medication management and patient care.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication therapy and patient safety.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Schedule and Hours:

• 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
• Monday through Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with active credentials to practice in Wisconsin or ability to obtain quickly.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably with exposure to ER, L&D, and Med Surg settings.
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills to work within interdisciplinary teams.

This assignment is set to begin the first rotation on July 6th and will last approximately 13 weeks, with potential for extension. The role is ideal for pharmacists seeking hands-on clinical practice in a critical access hospital environment with a structured rotating schedule.
