This opportunity is for a travel pharmacist position in a 25-bed critical access hospital in Wisconsin. The hospital serves a diverse patient population including emergency, labor and delivery, and medical-surgical units. You will provide pharmaceutical care with an average daily census of 10-12 patients. The electronic medical records system in use is Cerner, and medication dispensing is managed via Pyxis.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and safely to patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in the ER, L&D, and medical-surgical units.
- Manage medication distribution through Pyxis automated systems.
- Review physician orders for appropriateness and interactions.
- Provide clinical interventions and patient counseling as needed.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with current state licensure.
- Experience working in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Pyxis automation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.
- Monday-Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Saturday-Sunday: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
