A Pharmacist is needed to provide expert pharmaceutical care at a small LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) hospital with a daily patient census of approximately 10. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized healthcare setting focused on complex, long-term patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and dispense medications accurately and safely
- Review and interpret physician orders, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Monitor patient medication regimens and provide clinical interventions as needed
- Maintain proper documentation and assist with inventory control
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist license in Virginia (VA) required
- Prior hospital experience preferred, with familiarity in LTAC or acute care settings strongly valued
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a patient-focused environment with a smaller census
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift
