Pharmacist | Ashland, Wisconsin

A 13+ week contract opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to work at a 50-bed hospital in Northern Wisconsin. This role offers a unique chance to provide critical pharmaceutical care in a smaller hospital setting, supporting patient safety and optimal medication use.

Schedule and Location:

• 12-hour day shifts
• 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
• Located in Ashland, WI, with travel flexibility required
• Immediate start date

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders to assess drug therapy appropriateness, dosing, dosage form, regimen, therapeutic duplication, and potential drug interactions
• Provide pharmacokinetic and anticoagulation dosing expertise
• Engage in pharmaceutical care services, including medication reconciliation and discharge medication education to enhance patient outcomes
• Oversee pharmaceutical compounding with adherence to USP regulatory and compliance guidelines, focusing on USP 797 and USP 800 standards
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for clinical documentation and order management

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy practice
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic and anticoagulation dosing principles
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical compounding and USP standards, particularly USP 797 and USP 800
• Proficient in using EPIC or similar electronic health records systems
• Strong clinical skills with a patient-focused approach
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
