A specialized pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist with high-volume experience to manage critical verification duties in a fast-paced environment. This contract position is ideally suited for professionals with 2-3 years of experience and a positive, team-oriented attitude. The role focuses on accuracy, attention to detail, and ensuring the safe dispensing of medications within a renal specialty and mail order setting.
Location: Atlanta, GA
Contract Duration: 13 weeks+ (possibility for contract-to-hire)
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- ASAP start
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Pharmacist Verification 1 (PV1) and Pharmacist Verification 2 (PV2) functions
- Conduct final verification processes of prescriptions
- Verify the correct medication is in the bottle or box
- Ensure directions and prescription information match the hard copy documentation
- Work within the pharmacy’s order entry system (Wellsky) without automation
- Handle a high volume of approximately 1000 prescriptions daily
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of high-volume pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with renal specialty pharmacy or mail order pharmacy settings is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude
- Comfortable working with manual verification processes and the Wellsky system
- Availability for a strictly temp-only role
