Pharmacist - Aurora, IL

A specialized opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to provide night shift coverage at a leading children’s hospital located in the Chicago area. This position offers a 7-on, 7-off schedule, working nights from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, ideally suited for candidates comfortable with consistent nocturnal hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications with accuracy, focusing on pediatric patients
• Review medication orders and ensure safe dosing, particularly weight-based pediatric dosing
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy for young patients
• Utilize hospital systems such as EPIC and Omnicell for medication management and documentation
• Monitor patient responses and adjust medication plans as necessary
• Ensure compliance with all hospital and regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical care

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Illinois Pharmacist license
• Demonstrated hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in pediatric settings
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC) and automated dispensing systems (Omnicell)
• Strong understanding of pediatric pharmacology and comfort with weight-based dosing
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently during night shifts

This contract role begins ASAP and is expected to last at least 13 weeks with potential for extension. Candidates should be available for night shifts under the 7-on, 7-off rotation.
