Pharmacist in Belmont, MA

A PRN Staff Pharmacist role is open to provide clinical pharmacy support within a specialized Home Infusion service focusing on IV and infusion care for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This position requires onsite availability in Cambridge, MA, with a flexible PRN schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders and verify insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations adhering to USP 797 standards
• Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Schedule:

• Initial 4-8 days of training on the EMR system (June 18,19,25,26)
• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional PRN coverage on specified dates from June through December
• Regular shifts run from 9am to 5pm onsite

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum 1+ year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy preferred
• Required infusion therapy and sterile compounding experience
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
