A Managed Care Pharmacist role is available for remote work Monday through Friday, with rare weekend hours required a few times per year. This position requires a valid Pharmacist license in Oregon, Washington, or California and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managed care environment. Expertise in handling prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings is essential.

In this role, you will function as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist (CPS) contributing to clinical pharmacy services aimed at delivering coordinated, evidence-based, and cost-effective care. Collaboration with medical directors, nurse case managers, and healthcare providers is a key part of your responsibilities, to optimize medication therapy management and population health programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs
  • Managing population-based disease programs and specialty pharmaceutical services
  • Conducting drug utilization reviews and participating in clinical policy development
  • Collaborating with Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committees to influence pharmaceutical policies
  • Reviewing pharmacy and medical claims, educating members and providers
  • Developing medication-related problem lists and implementing therapeutic interventions

Desired qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in OR, WA, or CA
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in managed care pharmacy, particularly in prior authorizations, audits, and appeals
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey therapeutic recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical education
