Per Diem Pharmacist in Biddeford, ME

A healthcare facility specializing in ambulatory infusion therapy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist (PRN) to deliver clinical pharmacy support in a home infusion setting. This role focuses on providing safe, efficient care to patients requiring IV and infusion services for acute and chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and process physician orders, verifying insurance benefits to ensure proper coverage
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations following strict USP 797 guidelines
• Safely dispense medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring quality practice standards
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for fellow pharmacists as needed

Schedule:
• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling options
• Additional ongoing PRN coverage as required

Desired Qualifications:
• Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience is preferred
• Experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding is required
• In-depth knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication abilities, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking skills
