Per Diem Pharmacist in Birmingham, AL

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a licensed pharmacist to work in an independent retail pharmacy setting with a steady, manageable workload. You will be responsible for dispensing medications, managing prescriptions, and providing exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.

Location: Birmingham, AL
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• 1 to 2 days per week, ongoing per diem availability

Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescription medications
• Verify prescription orders and patient information
• Counsel patients on medication usage and answer pharmaceutical questions
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and cashier to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards

Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama pharmacy license required
• Pharmacy experience required; new graduates will be considered
• Prior retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Familiarity with Quick Script order entry system advantageous

Work Environment:

• Independent retail pharmacy setting
• Small staff including 1 to 2 pharmacy techs and a cashier
• Average daily prescription volume between 180-200 scripts
