A pharmacist position is available at a 25-bed surgical hospital located in Rapid City, SD. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a focused inpatient setting, providing essential pharmaceutical services to support patient care.

Location: Rapid City, SD
Position Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts

Responsibilities:

• Verification and processing of medication orders
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow
• Collaborating closely with physicians and nurses to provide drug information and recommendations
• Managing pharmacokinetics and dosage adjustments to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems to manage medication records and inventory

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid South Dakota pharmacist license is highly preferred
• Inpatient pharmacy experience, particularly in a hospital or surgical setting
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis medication management systems
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills to effectively consult with healthcare team members
