A travel pharmacist opportunity is available to provide professional pharmacy services at a 25-bed critical access hospital. This role supports a variety of inpatient units including Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, and Medical-Surgical, with minimal oncology responsibilities. Experience with Cerner EMR and Pyxis automated dispensing systems is essential.
Work Schedule and Hours:
- Monday through Sunday on a 7-on, 7-off rotation
- Monday to Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy for approximately 10-12 patients daily
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Manage medication inventory and utilize Pyxis systems for dispensing
- Document all pharmacy interventions in the Cerner EMR system
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid pharmacist licensure in Wisconsin or eligibility to obtain
- Strong familiarity with Cerner EMR and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
- Experience working in hospital settings, ideally with exposure to ER, Labor & Delivery, and Medical-Surgical units
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently during the rotational schedule
This contract assignment begins with a start date of July 6 and runs for a minimum of 13 weeks.
