Pharmacist | Bluewater, New Mexico

This pharmacist role offers the opportunity to manage comprehensive pharmacy operations in a clinical setting. The primary responsibilities include accurately preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring patient drug therapies for safety and effectiveness, and providing essential drug information to healthcare professionals. The position also involves overseeing inventory, supervising pharmacy technicians, and participating in emergency response teams. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director, stepping into leadership duties will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications including parenteral and IV solutions.
• Monitor and assess patient drug therapies, ensuring safety and therapeutic appropriateness.
• Provide drug information and education to healthcare providers and patients.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure compliance with legal and quality standards.
• Supervise pharmacy support staff and assist with formulary management.
• Participate in emergency response protocols such as Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue.
• Complete competency evaluations and engage in continuing education to maintain professional skills.
• Adhere to regulatory compliance, quality standards, and ethical conduct guidelines.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.
• Active pharmacy license in New Mexico.
• 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-specific medication considerations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technologies.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Dexterity for repetitive hand use in medication preparation.
