An opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacist to contribute to patient care through accurate medication dispensing, clinical oversight, and pharmacy operations management in a healthcare setting. This contract position is located in Bluewater, NM, offering the chance to apply expertise in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications, including parenteral and IV solutions, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.
- Monitor and evaluate patient drug therapies for safety, effectiveness, and appropriateness, providing clinical guidance to healthcare providers.
- Maintain medication inventory and manage pharmacy department records in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide leadership support, including assuming director responsibilities when needed.
- Participate in emergency response teams and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
- Active, current license to practice pharmacy in New Mexico.
- 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; strong clinical rotations may also be considered for new graduates.
- Proficient in pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and patient-specific medication considerations.
- Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods.
