Support critical patient care in the Emergency Department of a hospital located in Blythe, CA, on an 8-week contract basis. This role offers the opportunity for a skilled pharmacist to contribute directly to emergency medical services while collaborating closely with nursing staff and clinical teams.

Schedule & Location:

  • Contract duration: Approximately 3/2 through 5/1
  • Work days: Thursday through Sunday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts, totaling 48 hours per week)
  • On-call responsibilities: Some night shifts on-call required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pharmacy support to the Emergency Department, ensuring timely and accurate medication delivery
  • Respond promptly to Code Blue events, offering critical pharmaceutical interventions during emergencies
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications as needed to meet patient care demands
  • Function as a clinical resource for nursing staff and patients by advising on medication usage and safety
  • Collaborate with existing support services including laboratory, radiology, and cardiology departments to optimize patient outcomes

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active Pharmacist license in the state of California
  • Hospital inpatient pharmacy experience is highly preferred
  • Proficient in sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidance to healthcare staff and patients
