Provide expert clinical pharmacy support for a home infusion service specializing in IV and infusion therapies for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling with primarily daytime shifts in a clean, patient-focused environment.

Location:

  • Cambridge, MA (on-site)

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders, verifying insurance benefits promptly
  • Perform sterile compounding adhering to USP 797 standards and support cleanroom operations
  • Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records according to federal and state regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain smooth pharmacy operations
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed

Schedule:

  • Initial training: 4 to 8 days on EMR system
  • Ongoing shifts: Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling plus additional PRN coverage on specified dates
  • Standard shift hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, on-site

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Hands-on infusion therapy and sterile compounding experience required
  • Strong knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
