Pharmacist in Boston, MA

A Home Infusion provider specializing in IV and infusion services is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to support clinical pharmacy operations. This role offers an opportunity to work with patients managing both acute and chronic medical needs, providing vital pharmaceutical care in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Location:

• Cambridge, MA (on-site)

Schedule / Hours:

• Initial training: 4-8 days on EMR system (June 18, 19, 25, 26)
• Ongoing shifts approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional PRN coverage on selected dates from June through December
• Work hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders; verify insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations
• Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding required
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
