Pharmacist | Boston, Massachusetts

A healthcare provider specializing in home infusion services is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to support their operations in Cambridge, MA. This role focuses on providing clinical pharmacy services for patients requiring intravenous and infusion therapies for acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating and processing physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
• Performing sterile compounding and supporting cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards
• Ensuring the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintaining accurate patient and pharmacy records adhering to federal and state regulations
• Effectively communicating with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff as necessary
• Managing assigned patient caseloads and providing pharmacist coverage as needed

Schedule and Location:

• On-site work in Cambridge, MA, with shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Initial training of 4 to 8 days on the EMR system
• Regular commitment of 2 days per month with additional PRN coverage based on operational needs
• Immediate coverage needed for July 6-10, July 13-17, August 31, September 1-4, September 25, and December 11

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards is mandatory
• Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
