A night shift pharmacist opportunity is available at a leading hospital within the Mass General Brigham network in Boston, MA. This position offers a unique work schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, with hours from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role begins as soon as possible and extends for a duration of 13 weeks or longer, providing a great chance to bring hospital pharmacy expertise to a specialized healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation, dispensing, and proper utilization of medications in the hospital setting during night shifts
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards for medication management
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes through pharmaceutical care
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems to manage patient medication records, processing, and inventory control
- Monitor and respond to medication-related inquiries and emergencies on the night shift
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license is required
- Proven hospital pharmacy experience with familiarity in inpatient medication processes
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours, demonstrating sound clinical judgment
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with nursing and medical staff
Schedule:
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
- Night shift: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
