A specialty pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager/PIC to lead onsite operations with an immediate start. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a chance to manage pharmacy functions in a dynamic specialty setting focused on safe, compliant medication practices and superior patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC standards
- Provide counseling and medication therapy management for specialty disease states
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Collaborate with Intake, Referral, Nursing/Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure seamless prescription fulfillment and patient onboarding
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and support quality assurance initiatives
- Participate in weekend on-call rotation as scheduled
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required; Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
- BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- 3+ years’ experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or related pharmacy settings; retail-only background not accepted
- Strong understanding of specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
- Experience supervising pharmacy technicians
- Familiarity with CareTend software preferred
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, leadership, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend on-call rotation

- Onsite in the Boston, MA area
