Provide expert clinical pharmacy support with a focus on home infusion services at a reputable healthcare provider specializing in IV and infusion therapies for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. This role involves delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care on a recurring PRN schedule, primarily onsite during standard business hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and processing physician medication orders while verifying insurance benefits
- Performing sterile compounding in compliance with USP 797 standards and supporting cleanroom operations
- Ensuring the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
- Maintaining accurate patient and pharmacy records in adherence to federal and state regulations
- Effectively communicating with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Managing assigned patient caseloads and providing coverage for other pharmacists as necessary
Schedule:
- Initial 4 to 8 days of training on the facility’s EMR system
- Flexible PRN shifts approximately 2 days per month with additional coverage throughout the year
- Typical shifts run 9:00 am to 5:00 pm onsite
Desired Qualifications:
- Active MA Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy preferred
- Hands-on experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding required
- Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
- Strong skills in communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking
