A Home Infusion provider specializing in IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to deliver expert clinical pharmacy support. This role is ideal for pharmacists experienced in sterile compounding and infusion therapy looking to apply their skills in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Location: Cambridge, MA
Job Type: Contract (PRN) – flexible schedule with urgent coverage needed for July dates, plus intermittent days through the year
Schedule:
- Initial 4-8 training days on EMR system
- Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
- Shifts are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process physician orders, verify insurance benefits
- Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations following USP 797 standards
- Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion supplies
- Maintain accurate, compliant patient and pharmacy records
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and patients
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Manage patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy preferred
- Infusion therapy and sterile compounding expertise highly desired
- Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding guidelines
- Exceptional communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
