A PRN Staff Pharmacist role is available in a home infusion setting that specializes in IV and infusion therapies for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This position offers an opportunity to provide clinical pharmacy support on a recurring basis, working closely with a healthcare team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of infusion therapies.

Location: Cambridge, MA
Job Type: Contract (PRN)
Schedule:

  • Initial 4–8 days of training on the EMR system
  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional ongoing PRN coverage as needed
  • Shifts are onsite from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders, ensuring accuracy and proper insurance verification
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations adhering to USP 797 standards
  • Safely dispense medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for colleagues as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and/or sterile compounding strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills

This contract assignment is ideal for licensed pharmacists seeking flexible PRN work in a specialized home infusion environment. Immediate coverage is needed for July dates, with additional opportunities later in the year.
