Pharmacist - Brockton, Massachusetts

A healthcare provider specializing in home infusion therapy is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to deliver clinical pharmacy support on a recurring basis in Cambridge, MA. This role focuses on IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs, providing an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in a specialized setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and contribute to cleanroom operations adhering to USP 797 standards
• Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff as needed
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for fellow pharmacists when necessary

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with infusion therapy and/or sterile compounding preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong skills in communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking

Schedule:

• Initial 4-8 days of training on the EMR system
• Ongoing commitment of approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional PRN coverage as needed
• Typical shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, onsite

Urgent coverage needed for July 6-10 and July 13-17, with additional dates in August, September, and December.
