An established research hospital in New York, NY is seeking a skilled pharmacist with expertise in IV preparation and cleanroom procedures to join their team on a full-time maternity leave contract lasting six weeks. This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in advancing patient care and clinical research within a multidisciplinary environment.

- Full Time: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Part Time: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Job Type: Contract (6 weeks)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications, including investigational and standard care drugs, by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, ensuring compatibility and safety.
- Compound, dispense, package, and label pharmaceutical products in compliance with protocols.
- Monitor and control drug therapies, recommending interventions when necessary.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians, verifying their work and maintaining accurate records of drug dispensing and inventory.
- Provide pharmacological guidance to healthcare professionals and researchers, participate in clinical research meetings, and support knowledge development.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with NYSBP, TJC, NYDOH, DEA, FDA, NIH, and related agencies in all pharmacy operations, including aseptic techniques and sterile product preparation.
- Ensure clean and safe work environments by following established procedures and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with a strong background in investigational drug products and sterile product preparation.
- NYS Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Certification in sterile and non-sterile compounding (BCSCP) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or EPIC.
- Skilled in handling controlled substance dispensing and automated drug dispensing machines.
- Ability to interpret clinical trial protocols and maintain pharmacy records independently.
- Previous research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
