Pharmacist - Burlington, IA

A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a 200-bed healthcare facility in Southeast Iowa. This contract role offers a dynamic work environment with an opportunity to contribute directly to patient care in a hospital setting.

Location: West Burlington, IA
Schedule: Primarily 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 8-hour shifts
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders with accuracy and efficiency
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor and manage pharmacokinetics to tailor medication therapies
• Utilize healthcare IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist license or eligibility for a temporary license (temp license holders encouraged to apply)
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of medication verification processes and pharmacokinetics
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system and Pyxis dispensing machines
• Excellent communication skills with a team-oriented approach
