An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a pharmacy in Burnsville, MN, on a 13-week contract.

Location: Burnsville, MN
Job Type: Contract, 13 weeks
Schedule:

• Rotating shifts between 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM
• Must be able to work weekends on rotation (Saturday & Sunday)
• Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns
• Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements
• Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide patient education regarding medication usage, side effects, and storage
• Answer patient questions and offer consultations on both prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Deliver additional patient services, including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on medical device use such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory efficiently
• Identify drug-related problems and liaise with physicians and healthcare teams to resolve issues
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns

Qualifications:

• Minnesota pharmacist license in-hand (mandatory)
• Willingness to train retail pharmacists new to this setting
• Flexibility and reliability to cover required shifts and weekends
