Pharmacist - Butler, PA

A Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available in Butler, PA, offering an engaging role supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. This contract position, initially set for one month with possible extension, provides a 40-hour workweek Monday through Friday with weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance.
• Check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile medications.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions.
• Count controlled substances and maintain accurate documentation in the perpetual inventory system.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist licensure in good standing within the state of Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Proficient in operating pharmacy systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, use fine motor skills, and have visual acuity; able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 8am – 6pm
• Saturday: 8am – 4pm
• Sunday: 8am – 3pm
