Pharmacist - Butler, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist is needed for a contract position based in Butler, PA, with an assignment timeline of one month and the potential for extension. This role operates within pharmacy hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sundays 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
• Inspect blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile drugs for accuracy.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions.
• Perform counts of controlled substances and document findings in the perpetual inventory.
• Review and check emergency medication boxes.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Familiarity with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems is essential.
