Pharmacist in Butler, PA

This long-term care pharmacist role offers a focused opportunity to support skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care through accurate medication management and clinical consultation. The position operates on a contract basis with a strong potential for extension beyond the initial one-month assignment.

Location: Butler, PA
Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians across multiple care settings including skilled nursing and hospice
• Check blister-packed medications along with sterile and non-sterile preparations to ensure accuracy and safety
• Respond promptly to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing expert clinical guidance
• Count controlled substances and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation
• Review and manage emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; long-term care experience is preferred
• Physical requirements include ability to sit and stand for extended periods, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Operating Systems: Experience with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC is highly desirable.
