A pharmacy role is available in Butler, PA, offering a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 3-month assignment timeline. This position demands strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to support medication management within skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice environments.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Sunday: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and completeness.
  • Inspect packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile forms.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions effectively.
  • Manage controlled substance inventory, including counting and documenting in perpetual records.
  • Check and maintain emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Valid pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, with long-term care (LTC) experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds safely.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
