A pharmacy role is available in Butler, PA, offering a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 3-month assignment timeline. This position demands strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to support medication management within skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice environments.
Schedule/Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile forms.
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions effectively.
- Manage controlled substance inventory, including counting and documenting in perpetual records.
- Check and maintain emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Valid pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, with long-term care (LTC) experience preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds safely.
- Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
