This pharmacist opportunity offers a dynamic role supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. Located in Butler, PA, this contract position is structured as a 1-month assignment with the potential to extend up to 8 weeks or longer, providing steady engagement and the chance to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Pharmacy hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Sunday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple healthcare settings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Inspect blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for quality and safety.
  • Respond to calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, offering clinical insights and answering medication-related inquiries.
  • Accurately count controlled substances and maintain up-to-date documentation within the perpetual inventory system.
  • Review emergency medication boxes for completeness and readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, with a clear standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; experience in long-term care (LTC) is preferred.
  • Proficient with pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
