Role Overview:
The Oncology Pharmacist will collaborate closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure the best medication management for oncology patients. This role is situated within a smaller community health system, requiring a professional who is adaptable and comfortable working in a more intimate healthcare environment. The pharmacist's expertise will directly contribute to patient care quality and the optimization of oncology treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify oncology medication orders
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement optimal patient-specific medication therapies
- Monitor patient response to treatments and adjust medication plans accordingly
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
- Provide drug information and guidance to nursing staff and providers
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license required
- Proven oncology pharmacy experience
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) credential preferred
- Ability to thrive in a community health system setting
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
