A full-time Pharmacist is needed for an inpatient staffing role at a prominent medical center in Ventura County. This position offers an opportunity to support critical pharmacy operations within an acute care hospital setting, with the potential for temp-to-hire conversion based on performance and fit.

Location: Ventura County, CA (Camarillo area)
Job Type: Contract (3 to 6 months)
Schedule:

  • Primarily four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Some 8-hour shifts depending on pharmacy area
  • Variable shifts including swing shifts, occasional weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently for inpatient orders
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication therapy and patient safety
  • Monitor medication utilization and provide drug information support
  • Participate in clinical rounds and communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Valid California Pharmacist license required
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus; training can be provided
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic inpatient environment
