Pharmacist in Cambridge, MA

A PRN Staff Pharmacist opportunity is available in Cambridge, MA, supporting home infusion services that address acute and chronic patient needs. This role involves clinical pharmacy support with a focus on IV and infusion therapies, providing flexible, recurring coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits.
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations following USP 797 standards.
• Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies.
• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed.

Schedule / Hours:

• Initial training: 4-8 days on the EMR system.
• Regular work: Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling.
• Additional PRN coverage on specified dates.
• Shifts are from 9 AM to 5 PM, on-site.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist license in Massachusetts in good standing.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy preferred.
• Experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding is required.
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards.
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills.
