A healthcare organization specializing in home infusion services is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy support in Cambridge, MA. This role focuses on delivering IV and infusion services to patients with acute and chronic conditions, ensuring high-quality, safe medication management in a home infusion setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders, verifying insurance benefits accurately
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards
  • Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records following federal and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for pharmacists as needed

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards required
  • Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills

Schedule / Hours:

  • Initial training: 4-8 days on EMR system
  • Regular shifts: 2 days per month, flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage as needed including urgent July dates and select days through December
  • On-site shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
