An immediate opening is available for a dedicated pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy services at a medical facility located in Canby, CA. This 13-week contract role requires recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the last three years.
Under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director, you will oversee the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications. You will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and maintain efficient operation of the pharmacy services across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage inpatient medication orders for safety and accuracy.
- Verify patients' home medications before in-facility use.
- Maintain pharmaceuticals, specialty kits, and emergency crash carts throughout the facility.
- Ensure quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous drugs.
- Oversee pharmacy and automated dispensing system inventories.
- Maintain detailed records of drug procurement, dispensing, destruction, and billing.
- Provide drug information and support to healthcare professionals.
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, assisting with pharmacy licensure and policy updates.
- Provide weekend retail pharmacy coverage for emergency medication dispensing.
- Serve as on-call pharmacist during assigned shifts.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacist licensure.
- Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the past 3 years is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior consistently.
- Experience with pharmacy policy development and regulatory compliance.
