This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient pharmaceutical services under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director. You will manage drug procurement, distribution, storage, and administration to ensure hospital pharmacy operations comply with all State and Federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee hospital drug distribution systems to maintain efficient and compliant pharmacy services.
  • Review inpatient medication orders for accuracy and safety; verify patients’ home medications prior to facility use.
  • Maintain pharmacy and specialty kits inventory, including crash carts, STEMI, OB, and clinic kits.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols, controlled substances security, and hazardous drug disposal.
  • Maintain detailed records for procurement, dispensing, destruction, billing, and invoicing of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals via consultations and written materials.
  • Maintain and update the Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual to reflect legal and accreditation changes.
  • Assist with pharmacy licensure and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, providing weekend retail pharmacy emergency coverage and on-call support.
  • Identify and resolve drug discrepancies promptly.
  • Uphold confidentiality of patient and resident information in accordance with facility policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmaceutical services.

Qualifications:

  • Inpatient pharmacy experience within the last three years is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to produce deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated professional behavior and positive interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, state and federal pharmacy laws.
  • Ability to manage pharmacy inventory and maintain compliance in a hospital setting.

Location: Canby, CA

This is a 13-week contract position starting ASAP. Candidates must be ready to provide expert inpatient pharmacy support and ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
