An opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist with experience in Epic systems to support a healthcare facility through its transition from Meditech to Epic EMR. This travel assignment begins mid-March and spans approximately 20 weeks, with the end date adjustable based on start date.
Location: Carbondale, CO
Schedule:
- Rotating day/evening shifts, 40 hours per week
- Start times at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
- Rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately following physician orders
- Maintain medication stock in patient care settings
- Ensure medication therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective per established protocols
- Transcribe medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles with precision
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including complex preparations like IV admixtures and chemotherapy
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including controlled substances management
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and correct dosing
- Conduct pharmacokinetic drug dosing as per hospital protocols
- Review culture and sensitivity data to optimize antibiotic use
- Provide clinical consultation and drug information to medical staff and patients
- Document clinical activities accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Serve as a member of the Code Response Team
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
- Must have flu vaccination (no exemptions) during the vaccination season from October 1 to April 1
- Proven experience using Epic system; Meditech training is advantageous
