A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the inpatient pharmacy services at a healthcare facility in Carbondale, CO. This 13-week contract role requires a dedicated professional with strong expertise in pharmacy operations, clinical services, and team management. The position demands experience with Epic, as the facility is transitioning its EMR from Meditech to Epic, making familiarity with both systems a significant advantage.

Responsibilities include ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications across the inpatient setting by developing and enforcing policies, maintaining the formulary, supervising medication storage and preparation, and controlling medication supply integrity. The manager will uphold strict oversight of controlled substances, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain competency records. In addition, this role encompasses direct supervision of all pharmacy personnel, managing staffing levels, performance evaluations, and educational initiatives for staff development.

Collaboration with other departments is critical to align pharmacy services with organizational goals through strategic planning, quality improvement programs, and active participation in committees and management meetings.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited institution (BS Pharmacy degree and PharmD required)
  • Current Colorado pharmacy license in good standing
  • Proven leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services
  • Demonstrated regulatory knowledge and strong clinical judgment
  • Proficiency with Epic (Meditech experience is a plus)
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Required flu vaccine compliance (no exemptions, valid Oct 1–Apr 1)

Schedule:

  • Day shift, 40 hours per week

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility to meet travel radius requirements.
