A Pharmacist Manager opportunity is available to lead inpatient pharmacy operations at a hospital facility in Carbondale, CO. This 13-week contract role requires a dedicated professional to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies aligned with established protocols and organizational goals. The assignment is ideal for candidates located at least 75 miles from the facility, providing a valuable leadership experience during the facility’s EMR conversion from Meditech to Epic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures to promote safe and cost-effective medication use.
- Maintain and supervise medication storage, preparation, and supply integrity, including strict control of controlled substances.
- Provide leadership and management for all pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and educational support.
- Oversee compliance with hospital policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with organizational departments to align pharmacy services with the hospital's mission and strategic plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational committees.
- Maintain pharmacy licensure and professional competence, while attending management meetings.
- Support the EMR conversion process with strong Epic system experience.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy is acceptable but PharmD is required).
- Current, active Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing.
- Proven leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services.
- Strong regulatory knowledge, clinical judgment, communication, and teaching abilities.
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Flu vaccine certification (mandatory October 1 through April 1, no exemptions).
- Experience with Epic system (Meditech experience is a plus).
Schedule:
- Day shift, 40 hours per week.
