Pharmacist | Carter Lake, Iowa

A healthcare facility in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to support their inpatient behavioral health unit. This contract opportunity offers the chance to contribute to patient care on weekends, providing comprehensive medication management in a focused setting.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately in alignment with physician orders and facility protocols.
• Repackage medications using systems such as Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL when required.
• Load and manage drugs in automated dispensing machines, including running restock reports to ensure continuous availability.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize pharmacologic therapy and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.

Schedule/Hours:

• Saturday and Sunday, 6 hours per day.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Iowa Pharmacist license.
• Previous experience working with Omnicell automated dispensing systems highly preferred.
• Familiarity with medication repackaging processes and automated medication carts.
• Basic knowledge of managing and operating automated drug dispensing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
