A healthcare facility in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking an experienced pharmacist to support their inpatient behavioral health unit on a contract basis starting May 18. This role requires weekend availability with shifts on Saturday and Sunday, 6 hours per day, until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and safely within the inpatient behavioral health setting
- Utilize automated medication dispensing systems including Omnicell
- Repackage medications using systems such as Milt/Medi-dose or HCL
- Perform routine tasks such as loading drugs into automated machines and generating restock reports
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa pharmacist license is required
- Experience working with Omnicell automated dispensing equipment highly preferred
- Familiarity with medication repackaging methods like Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL desirable
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Schedule:
- Saturday and Sunday, 6 hours per day
