Pharmacist in Carter Lake, IA

A Pharmacist opportunity is available in an inpatient behavioral health setting, offering weekend shifts with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. The assignment begins 5/18 and continues until a permanent pharmacist is hired. This role is ideal for a licensed Iowa pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy operations and a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately according to physician orders and regulatory standards
• Repackage medications using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems, maintaining compliance with safety protocols
• Load drugs into automated dispensing machines and run restock reports to ensure inventory accuracy
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient treatment plans in a behavioral health environment
• Maintain documentation and adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current Iowa pharmacist license (IA License mandatory)
• Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred
• Proficiency in repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems highly desirable
• Basic understanding of automated drug dispensing machines and inventory management
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during weekend shifts

Schedule/Hours:

• Saturday and Sunday shifts, 6 hours per day
