Per Diem Pharmacist | Cary, North Carolina

This opportunity offers a Per Diem pharmacist role within a specialized home infusion environment, requiring expertise in sterile compounding and patient-focused pharmaceutical care. The position operates Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, covering the period from July 29 through August 5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify pharmaceutical products entering the clean room for sterile compounding, ensuring accuracy with unique lot numbers on batch records.
• Perform final checks on compounded sterile products (CSP) including labeling, fill amounts, and drug correctness.
• Oversee final shipments to patients, confirming the accuracy of medications and accompanying medical supplies.
• Communicate effectively with physicians’ offices, field nurses, and patients regarding drug regimens, inventory, adverse reactions, and lab results.
• Proactively contact patients to coordinate medication deliveries, check on supplies, monitor compliance, and report any concerns to management.
• Manage incoming calls from healthcare professionals and patients, addressing questions and issues professionally.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master of Science in Pharmacy preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in North Carolina.
• At least two years of recent acute-care experience or one year of experience in home infusion therapy.
• Solid knowledge of intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy.
• Proficient in CPR+ software (mandatory).
