A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced inpatient pharmacist to support an acute care hospital in Chesapeake, VA. This 13-week assignment offers a dedicated overnight schedule with a unique 7-on/7-off rotation, providing an optimal work-life balance for professionals who thrive in critical care pharmacy settings. Immediate availability and a Virginia pharmacist license are mandatory.

Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, order entry, and managing complex drug therapies such as IV medications, pain-controlled analgesia, and antibiotics. Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing is highly desirable to enhance patient care. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records is essential, as it is the platform for all clinical documentation and communication.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Virginia pharmacist license (required at submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience; travel pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Strong expertise in IV therapies, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction management
  • Familiarity with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic and renal dosing (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with EPIC charting

Schedule Details:

  • Overnight shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday
  • Weekend overnight shifts from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday
  • 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off rotation
