An opportunity is available for an experienced inpatient pharmacist to support a healthcare facility in Chesapeake, VA. This 13-week contract position offers a structured overnight shift schedule, providing an essential role in patient medication management within a hospital setting.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Overnight shifts: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday
  • 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM Friday through Sunday
  • Work cycle: 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and enter medication orders with accuracy
  • Manage intravenous (IV) therapies and pain-controlled analgesia
  • Monitor antibiotic therapies and identify potential drug interactions
  • Support chemotherapy, anticoagulant therapy, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing as needed
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for charting and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Virginia pharmacist license must be valid and in hand at the time of application – no exceptions
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; prior travel pharmacy experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrated expertise in IV medication administration, pain management, antibiotic protocols, and drug interaction assessments
  • Proficient with EPIC EMR system, as it is essential for daily operations
