Pharmacist - Chesapeake, VA

An experienced inpatient pharmacist is needed for a 13-week contract assignment starting June 29 in Chesapeake, VA. This role involves working rotating shifts at a regional medical center, delivering critical pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

Schedule & Hours:

• Rotating shifts including Day, Evening, and Overnight
• Day shifts: 06:30–15:00, 07:30–16:00, 09:00–17:30, 10:00–18:30
• Evening shifts: 13:00–21:30, 14:30–23:00
• Overnight shifts: 19:30–07:30, 20:30–07:30

Responsibilities:

• Verify and enter medication orders accurately
• Manage pain-controlled analgesia and antibiotic therapies
• Monitor drug interactions and provide safe dosing recommendations
• Administer and handle chemotherapy protocols as needed
• Utilize pharmacokinetic and renal dosing principles
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC for electronic medical record (EMR) charting

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Must hold a valid Virginia pharmacist license at the time of application (mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required; travel pharmacy experience preferred
• Proven expertise with intravenous medication administration and management
• Skilled in pain control, antibiotics, drug interactions, and medication order verification
• Preferred experience with chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic, and renal dosing
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system is strictly required
