Pharmacist | Chesapeake, Virginia

A dedicated inpatient pharmacist role is available for a 13-week contract starting June 29th in Chesapeake, VA. This position offers an opportunity to support patient care in a dynamic hospital setting, managing medication therapies and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Schedule/Hours:

• Rotating shifts including:
  • Day: 0630 – 1500, 0730 – 1600, 0900 – 1730, 1000 – 1830
  • Evening: 1300 – 2130, 1430 – 2300
  • Overnight: 1930 – 0730, 2030 – 0730

Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately.
• Manage IV medications, pain control analgesia, and antibiotics administration.
• Monitor for drug interactions and adjust therapies as needed.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC) for charting and order entry.
• Support chemotherapy, anticoagulants administration, and pharmacokinetic and renal dosing as applicable.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid VA pharmacist license at time of application.
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy, pain control, antibiotics, and drug interaction management.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system is mandatory.
• Preferred experience includes chemotherapy, anticoagulants, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, and prior travel pharmacy assignments.
