Pharmacist - Chesapeake, VA

An immediate opportunity is available for an inpatient pharmacist to support a busy facility in Chesapeake, VA. This 13-week contract requires a highly skilled professional ready to navigate a dynamic environment amid ongoing management changes. Candidates must be prepared to start promptly on Monday, August 24.

Shift options include:

• Day Shifts: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
• Evening Shifts: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
• Overnight Shifts: 1930–0730, 2030–0730

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately verify medication orders and manage order entry with precision.
• Monitor drug interactions and manage pain control analgesia.
• Oversee IV medication administration and antibiotic usage.
• Engage in pharmacokinetic and renal dosing practices, with chemo and anticoagulant management as a plus.
• Utilize EPIC EMR system for comprehensive charting and patient care documentation.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia pharmacist license required at time of application—no exceptions.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience mandatory.
• Prior experience with EPIC charting is essential.
• IV medication, pain control, antibiotic management, and drug interaction expertise required.
• Familiarity with chemo protocols, anticoagulant therapy, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing preferred.
• Travel pharmacy experience is a strong advantage.
