We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week hospital assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy acute care team and work in a dynamic inpatient setting utilizing EPIC.

The ideal candidate will have recent inpatient hospital experience, strong clinical knowledge, and the ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights.

Position Details

13-week contract assignment
Start Date: June 29
Inpatient hospital setting
Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and overnights
Competitive weekly pay

Shift Schedule

Day Shifts:
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Evening Shifts:
1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Overnight Shifts:
7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
8:30 PM – 7:30 AM

Responsibilities

Verify and review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Perform order entry and clinical medication review
Monitor drug interactions and medication safety concerns
Manage antibiotic therapies and provide clinical recommendations
Support pain management and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) therapies
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and pharmacy regulations
Participate in clinical pharmacy services and patient care initiatives

Required Qualifications

Active Virginia Pharmacist License (must be in hand at the time of submission)
Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
EPIC charting experience
IV admixture and sterile compounding experience
Experience with pain-controlled analgesia (PCA)
Experience with antibiotic stewardship and management
Strong knowledge of drug interactions
Medication order entry and order verification experience
Excellent communication and clinical problem-solving skills
Ability to work rotating schedules, including evenings and overnights

Preferred Qualifications

Travel assignment experience
Chemotherapy medication experience
Anticoagulation management experience
Pharmacokinetic dosing experience
Renal dosing experience
