Pharmacist in Chicago, IL

A specialized opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to work a unique 7-on, 7-off night shift schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This contract position is based in the vibrant city of Chicago and offers a duration of approximately 13 weeks with the potential for extension. The preferred candidate will be ready to begin employment as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in daily operations
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to offer expert pharmaceutical consultations
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize medication regimens
• Utilize electronic systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management

Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license with experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills to provide effective interdisciplinary consultation
• Ability to work independently during night shifts while managing multiple priorities
• Comfortable with a 7-day consecutive work schedule followed by 7 days off
