Pharmacist | Chicora, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available on a contract basis in Chicora, PA, supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care settings. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication orders and providing expert clinical guidance.

Assignment Details:

• Duration: 1 month ongoing with the possibility of extension
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy operational hours:
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities
• Check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile products
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions
• Count controlled substances and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Current and active Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; experience in Long Term Care preferred
• Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, maintain fine motor skills and visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems
