Pharmacist | Chicora, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist is sought for a contract position in Chicora, PA, with an assignment timeline of one month ongoing and possible extension. This role involves working 40 hours per week within pharmacy operating hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The pharmacist will utilize QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems to support medication management for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review orders entered by data entry technicians to ensure accuracy for long-term care patients.
• Verify both sterile and non-sterile medications, including packaged blister-packed medications.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians by providing clinical guidance.
• Count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory log.
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing.
• Minimum of one year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care (LTC).
• Physical capability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.
