This long-term care contract opportunity offers a part-time pharmacist role, providing approximately 24 hours per week in a supportive environment dedicated to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.

Schedule:

  • 24 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
  • Perform thorough checks on blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions with professionalism.
  • Accurately count controlled substances and document them in the perpetual inventory.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency medication boxes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, visual inspection, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Operating Systems Familiarity:

  • QS1, Docutrack, PCC.

This contract position typically begins with a one-month assignment, with the possibility for extension based on performance and organizational needs. It offers an excellent chance to utilize your pharmacy skills in a focused long-term care setting with consistent, manageable hours.
